U.FL connector

Hello,

I need to connect an antenna to a board using U.FL connector. I have no idea how I can connect this connector to my board anyone can help? Also does anyone have an Eagle library containing this part? Or do any version of SparkFun’s Eagle libraries contain this connector?

Thanks!

Hello, I need the eagle library too.

Did you find it yet?

Looks like your best option is an SMT version:

Pretty straight forward part, just create a library in Eagle.

Looking to the Recommended PCB Mounting Pattern I can see that there is 2 ground areas of 2.2mm and something called SIG what do that means? I suppose this is the bad to connect to the RF pin of the module. Do I have to add an antenna matching circuit?

SIG is the signal pin that connects to your RF module and your antenna. Whether or not it needs a matching network depends on the module. If your module has a 50 ohm output, you just need a 50-ohm trace to the connector (usually 100mils wide on standard 0.062" FR4)

10mils or 112mil? (2.8448mm)

My typo - I meant 100mils (yes, 112 is more accurate but some tools don’t let you specify exact widths and 100 is close enough)
