uMIRF missing pins!

Hi,

I’m working on a design using a uMIRF with the 2401 module. The datasheet shows there should be a power-up pin, but the modules I just got have this Power-up pin shorted to Vcc! I need to be able to power down the module. Is there any way to do this thru the configuration, or am I going to have to get a mosfet or something similar?

I know I probably should have gone with the 24L01, but now I have a bunch of these and don’t want to change the design just yet. Please let me know if anyone has any solutions.

Thank you,

Cesar

It’s several years since I used the original MIRF, but the only way to set power down mode is with that pin. You might be able to modify the board by cutting the pad connection to Vcc, and connecting it to an unused channel input, if you are only using one of them. You’ll need to break that connection, as well.

I’m also missing the second channel inputs… only the 7 pins in a row are there (Vcc, CE, CS, DR1, CLK, DAT, GND). Did I mistakenly receive an older version of the PCB? Or why would they remove functionality from the newer version? Also the PRU connection is impossible to see. I think I’m going to have to use a MOSFET… they really should update the datasheet.
