Upgrading an MP3 WAV Trigger unit

I would like to upgrade an MP3 WAV Trigger unit (Robertson electronics), Spark fun #'s WIG-11029 and/or WIG-09715, with the latest WIG-13720.

I have functioning code for the first two. Can I simply plug in the latest version (WIG 13720) to my system or are there code changes that would have to be performed??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi mdl1961!

You should be able to upgrade without any issues. We only made some hardware changes to the different revisions to work around updated components. Code for the older versions should work fine with the latest version but you could always downgrade the firmware if you needed too.

Beautiful, Thanks for the quick response!

Hello Again,

I want to be sure I purchase compatible microSD cards for the MP3 Triggers I purchased (WIG-13720). Spark Fun is out of cards so I am forced to go elsewhere for now. It is hard to find the low capacity ones so I am looking at these two SanDisc units:

Standard Class 4 MicroSDHC UHS-I Memory Card (https://www.newegg.com/sandisk-8gb-micr … 0005-016U7)

and/or

Standard Class 4 MicroSDHC UHS-I Memory Card (https://www.newegg.com/sandisk-4gb-micr … 0005-016B8)

Would either of these work? Any recommendations?

Chances are either of those will work just fine but I can’t say for certain since I have not tested those specific cards before.

There is a guide on using [SD cards with the WAV Trigger you might have a look at, but I think you’re going to be OK.](microSD Cards For Audio — Robertsonics)

Thank You! My concern was that the SD card “list” was for the WAV version of the player, and I have ordered the mp3 version. Using that list you compiled as a guide, my concern was that I was only finding cards that are the “…UHS…” Versions.

But I did finds this one at New Egg: SanDisk 4GB microSDHC Card Class 4 SDSDQAB-004G Bulk Pack, which seems to be acceptable on your list, so hopefully this will work with the mp3 units!

Thanks again
