USB to true parallel port conversion

Hello Guys

I have several parallel port based JTAG and other pheripherals, unfortunately most of the new systems (esp laptops) have been missing the parallel port and been replaced with USB. I have yet to find a true USB to parallel port converter, the ones available in the market are “USB Printer Cable” which does not emulate a tru parallel port. So does anyone know of a try USB->LPT converter (not PCMCIA0>LPT). If not, how difficult is it to emulate a parallel port, would it be worthwhile to use a Cypress/FDTI etc chip to emulate a LPT? Any ideas?

Thanks

Jay

NorthBridge Technology (http://www.northbridgetech.com) will release USB2LPT dongle within 1 month. It’s not yet on their web site, but you can contact them and ask with regard to price info/earliest availability. Dongle is not “faking” any of LPT functionality - it’s true LPT port with all the high/low level functional compatibility. First release will support only Windows 2K/XP. Linux support will follow.
