Venus 634 with SMA - VBAT question / clarification

I have the Venus 634 with SMA board ( 4-27-09 ) currently connected

to a logomatic v2 via

GND > GND

3.3V > 3.3V

TX > RX

RX > TX

this all works fine and logs data.

My question is as the power from the logomatic is switched off the

venus board cold starts each time. I believe that if i de solder a

jumper ( not sure if this is the one next to the vbat pin ) and

connect the battery to this pin that it will warm start each time

instead?

Also if the above is correct, is there a permanent 3.3v available from

the logomatic board pins? or should i just feed of the power

connector?

Many Thanks

Yes, that jumper (the unlabeled one) looks like the correct one. Desoldering it and apply battery power (1.5-6V) to JP3, Pin 1 will ensure a "warm" start.

When the switch on the Logomatic is turned off, there is no 3.3V available, so you'll need to pull the battery power directly from the battery connector.
