Hello. Is it possible to use the WAV Trigger PRO as a simple USB MIDI controller?
I would connect push-buttons to the trigger pins, connect WTP via USB to my DAW PC, and have the push-buttons control my DAW PC through WTP’s MIDI OUT. So no audio from WTP necessary at all, just MIDI.
I’ve been trying to figure it out for quite some time, but it’s not clear to me if this is achievable.
To reiterate, the simple setup would be this; push buttons → WTP trigger pins → WTP MIDI OUT via USB → DAW PC
Thank you but the linked controller isn’t what I’m after. I need to be able to use my own buttons and program it as needed.
The Sparkfun WAV Trigger Pro is marketed as having MIDI OUT functionality, so I’m wondering if it can be programmed to output MIDI messages, using buttons connected as triggers.
I wasn’t able to find any documentation regarding MIDI OUT functionality.
I don’t see anywhere where it’s marketed having MIDI out, but it does have a MIDI host mode. Unfortunately I don’t see anything that states it can function like a button pad.
On the website for the board I linked earlier, thay have the same controller in a kit form and that would allow you to use your own buttons. Maybe that would work for you?
