I have an application where it would be useful to be able to add or delete wav files remotely. Physical access is difficult.
A Raspberry Pi is available as a resource.
The WAV Trigger is a read only board and unfortunately there is not a way to modify the contents of the SD card while it’s in the WAV Trigger.
If you already have a Pi, you could conceivably use that as your audio player and modify your audio files over a LAN.
That certainly is an option. I suppose I’d need an external sound card as well. I have no experience with audio and the Pi. Do you have any recommendations?
I also discovered that there are Wi-Fi SD cards meant for sending files wirelessly from a camera to a PC. I trying to see if I can send files to it instead.
As long as you’re using a Pi that has a 3.5mm jack, you should be able to use that for audio. I don’t have a guide on how to use the audio jack, but there are probably lots of guides online. There are also USB sound cards that can be used with the Pi for audio but you’d need to do a bit of research to see which ones are supported.
OK, thanks, but I don’t believe the audio jack has the fidelity I need. I’m playing wav files… I may give it a shot.
I am using the random, pause, and resume functions of the WAV Trigger as well. So there would be more programming involved if I were to use the Pi.
