Hello I am using my wav trigger to be the horn and bell for a train locomotive.
I have two questions related to pushing the limits of what is possible.
First the horn, it is a ten second file that when the remote button* is held it is on and stops as soon as the button is released. Can the sound be set to fade after the button is released as most horn presses are 1 to 3 seconds long, the sudden stop of the sound makes it sound fake.
Second the bell. Pressing the button* latches a cyclical relay that sends a signal every second. Press the button again and the relay stops firing. My sound file is currently 5 seconds long, with one strong chime right away and bing, bink, tink, tick recorded from the real bell stopping. I got a good match of the sound file to the firing rate… but being polyphonic eventually all the sound is the bell and there is some slight distortion from the overlaying sounds. Can I make just file 002 non-polyphonic? I want the bell to just do the first chime each time and then when turned off the last 4. A linear fade would not work as it is a very different sound to the real bell stopping.
*I am am adapting a control system that is intended to be used in locomotives with a real air horn and a real bell, so changing the input signals will be difficult.
Also the other 14 triggers are appropriate things like brake squeal, “All Aboard!”, etc… They all work fine.
