What type of connector is this?

I’ve looked and looked but just cannot find a precise name for this type of connector or a place to buy them individually, separate from connected wires. They’re a kind of snap connector, at least that’s what I call them and a google image search will passingly show them. I have these antistatic wristbands as in the picture but want to build me own cables to attach to them. The existing snaps have much too fragile cables and the snaps themselves are cast in hard plastic. Unable to hack as far as I can tell.

Most connectors I’ll find - if I find them at all - are prefabs with some cable attached but I just want the connector. Finding it hard to nail a correct search on the likes of Mouser, Digikey, Farnell, etc.

Who knows what these are called and where to order or what kind of shop carries them?

Snap fastener is a useful term, that will help me search better. As for the wikipedia page, I’m familiar with the smaller ones easily found in a clothing shop but these larger ones weren’t so easily found.

I’ve also beel told the term ‘press stud’ in another forum, fyi.

Thanks for your input.

Just dissolve the plastic / or melt it.

If you want larger snap fasteners, then search on that. [Amazon carries them.

It’s very likely that the ones you are looking for with wires attached are a custom made item and not available on the open market. If you want a lot of them checkout alibaba.com: I found lots of people making them there.](Amazon.com : 100pc 3/8" Canvas Snap Fastener Button Stud Replacement Set - Boat Covers, Canopy : Marine Canvas Snaps : Sports & Outdoors)

That’s a great deal, thanks! I ended up finding them at a local clothing/shoe repair shop. They weren’t accustomed to people buying them separately but they sold it to me nonetheless. Payed much too much, but I was happy to have found it locally.

Ended up assembling the cables with those snap fasteners and making my own housing using Sugru to provide strain relief.
