I want to measure altitude on my drone platform and need advice on the best sensor board to use. Sparkfun list the LPS25HB and the M55637 as barometric pressure sensors but the descriptions and prices seem identical!
So what is to choose between them?
Either will work fine. Compare the data sheets for the details on differences in sensor characteristics.
Thanks for your reply. I will choose the LPS25HB although they do appear to use the identical sensor on identical schematics!
Sparkfun doesn’t sell the MS5637 any more, or the LPS25HB. They sell the MS5803 and LPS28 breakouts. The LPS and MS series are completely different chips (but the sensing characteristics are similar).
Where are you seeing or buying those old breakouts?
I see them listed among Quiic sensor boards below the Artemis board on the website, with both described as ‘Backorder’. Hence my confusion, I had assumed that by ‘Backordering’ my board would eventually be back in stock and shipped to me.
I am now completely confused as to which Quiic board to order for use as a sensitive altimeter module with my Openlog Artemis logger. Any advice would be appreciated.
The market is competitive, and the performance of all of the competitors is very similar, so it probably won’t matter which you choose.
