Hello,
I have a new Wifly RN-134 module and I have been doing initial test of the module. I can power it up from the UART pins, make a connect when only the +3.3 volt & common UART pins are used, but if I connect a device to the Tx, Rx UART pins then the module stops broadcasting. My device uses +5 volt standard TTL outputs but I use voltage dividers to output +3.3 volts to the module ( I have checked this output with a multimeter to be sure of 3.3 volts). To reestablish communications with the module all I have to do is remove either the Tx or Rx line from the UART pins and it starts working again. Has anyone see this type of behavior from a Wifly device before? I have been talking with RN support but they have never heard of this before, they say it is very strange indeed. I have not configured the module, using the factory default settings. The factory default settings are what my device needs to talk to the module. To date I have only connected to the UART +12, common, Tx & Rx (UART 1,2,3,4)pins.
