Hi! I’m having issues getting my WIG-13118 Servo board to trigger. I’m using Generic High Torque Servo ROB-11965 and 5v 2 Amp Power supply TOL-15312. When I power it up and adjust A, it adjusts erratically and seems to trigger on its own back and forth during and right after I am done adjusting A. I am unable to get it to trigger at all when I touch the two trigger terminals together. I have verified I have 5 volts coming from the power supply.
What I think has happened is this is the first board I’ve ever soldered and I did a poor job and it took a LOOOONNG time. I’m thinking I could have fried the board by overheating it. I’m looking for a way to verify this before I order more. I have verified the servo works with a different servo controller.
Thank you,
Will
Hi, Will. Thanks for writing in on the forums.
Soldering is pretty important and could absolutely cause issues if done incorrectly. I remember soldering my first board, it was not pretty. We all start somewhere.
If you can snap a photo I could take a look at the soldering and let you know my thoughts on the matter. Generally speaking most electrical components are designed to go through a baking process of sorts so I would argue that it should be difficult to damage a component unless your soldering iron was hot and on a specific contact for a long time.
Looking forward to helping you soon.
Hi John,
Thanks for your response. Is there an email address I can send the photos to? I tired uploading jpgs to this rely and it told me there was an http error. So then I turned them into a pdf and it tells me that is invalid as well.
Thanks,
Will
Update: also tried png this morning, still giving me an http error.
Hi Again! I got a friend to look at my board that has used this board before and he said he didn’t see anything wrong with my solder joints. They all have good contact, even if they aren’t the prettiest. This is a very simple board, not much to hook up incorrectly. I think the board is damaged or defective.
Hey again. Sorry to hear that attachments are acting up.
