Xbee + Arduino pro mini 3.3V / 8MHz

hi there,

anyone knows if i could run an xbee module (serie1, 1mW) directly from the Vcc pin of an Arduino pro mini 3.3V ?

can it supply the current? does the 8MHz clock (instead of the 16MHz) - should cause any problems (with respect to the xbee communication, and the servo library) ??

which of these configuration is better:

  1. xbee + 3.3v regulator + arduino mini pro 5v

or,

  1. xbb + arduino pro 3.3v

?

I would like to know the same thing, Anyone have information on it yet?

3.3V is OK, but ensure the current consumption can be handled by the regulator. The Series 1 non-Pro modules require about 40mA. The Pro models take a bit more than that in receive and about 100mA in the brief transmit times.
