xbee pro 900 setup

Hi, i just bought 2 xbee pro 900 modules a xbee usb xplorer board and an xbee xplorer board the regulated one but i dont know anything about them .

I dont know how to setup them ( i have heard something about an"x-ctu" but still dont know what this is) and how to send and read data with them and ofcourse

i dont know the modes they have.

Please can anyone help me to face those difficulties?

Start by going to Digi International’s web site where you will find all the documentation.

Download and read the document on the XBees you purchased. All of your questions are answered in the Docs.

X-CTU is a utility for setting up, loading new firmware and testing XBees. It is a free download from Digi Int.

Also in this forum (Wireless/RF) is a thread titled ‘Better XBee documents’. This thread contains links to various information about XBees.

i dint find something helpfull in this thread for my version of xbee.

X-CTU is Digi's setup and quick test software for a PC. Talks to an XBee via USB or serial.

Lots to read from Digi. Hard to find their user manuals on their web site, but they are there. About 50 pages.

There are many feature that are similar among the different XBee modules. Info on any of the XBees can be helpful to understanding the other XBees like the 900MHz units. But you must read the official Digi Documents for the details.
