XBEE TECHNICAL HELP ME PLEASE!!

Hello Everyone,

I have 2 Xbee and i need them to communicate to each other. Xbee 1 is hooked up to PIC18F2455 and an accelerometer sensor.

Xbee 2 is hooked up to my computer using WRL-08687 Xbee Explorer USB. Data from the sensor is sent from Xbee 1 to Xbee 2 operating in API Mode.

Using X-CTU Command Prompt I was able to see the data that Xbee 2 receives. I know that it is transmitting CORRECTLY because I have verified the results.

The two xbee were communicating with each other very nicely.

However, all of a sudden when I unplug the usb explorer, xbee 2 no longer able to recieve data anymore. the xbee 2 can communicate with usb explorer. but the ROSI (signal strength) green LED no longer go on anymore.

I cant remember what I did or how I unplugged it.

Is the USB explorer damaged? If I have unplugged xbee 2 without unplugging the usb explorer first…could this be the reason why it is damaged?

What can be wrong with my xbee!! Please help…the project came close to be successful but all of sudden this happened.

Hove you tried reseting XBee 2(?) whilst in the Explorer board and attached to you’re computer?

Simply get a thin bit of wire and very carefully short “RST” and one of the "GND"s together for moment. (contacts are marked on the back of the board)

The inclustion of a reset button has been suggested for a future revision.

Just so i understand, XBee 2 can’t receive data. Is XBee 1 transmitting?

(In the future, don’t ‘capslock’ you’re thread titles.)
