I ordered an XM125 breakout board a couple months ago. It remained in the package in a safe place until my project kicked off this last week. I am using the Arduino IDE and following the hookup guide, though I am unable to upload any sketches (including ‘blink’) or use any other tools to make connection. I see a CH340 com port in windows and a /tty/usb0 on linux, but do not see any response (e.g. esp32 boot messages) or usb connection. All sketch uploads result in a “No serial data received” error. Additionally, there is a visible damage to the cap of the STM32L4 microcontroller and it gets very hot while plugged in to usb (too hot to touch). Any next troubleshooting steps?
Dang - can you share a close-up photo of the board?
Was it purchased from us? If so head over to Return Policy - SparkFun Electronics (contact vendor if purchased elsewhere) and we’ll get ya squared away
I ordered mine from amazon, but I sent a support ticket and they sent me here.
Also the return policy says they might not accept it because it was more than 30 days ago.
Ah - what was the purchase date? If this thread was created before the time was up we’ll honor it
It was more than 3 months ago, I was buying stuff for my research class during the summer and we are just starting so I never opened the package till just now.
Just starting as in done with all of our proposals and form so the actual research is starting.
