Yosemite + Redboard

Has anyone had any luck getting their Redboard to work with Yosemite. I have been diligently trying all evening.

I get the error - avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

I have attempted to disabled the Apple drivers and install the original drivers to no avail. I was preparing for a session for our Maker club - I have 23 SIKs coming where half the participants in our session will be on MACs.

I was able to use the same MAC to upload to my Arduino boards as well as use Windows 7 via Parallels on the same MAC to upload a sketch. But the MAC itself will not upload any sketches.

I have also tried multiple different USB cords, different USB ports.

I was able to squeeze an upload up by playing around with the reset button while it was trying to upload, but this is not consistent or a viable solution for our maker session.

Thanks for reading…

I have the same problem. I have not found a solution.

Hi,

I had to download this version of Java

http://download.info.apple.com/Mac_OS_X … 14-001.dmg

and then reinstall the FTDI driver

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/Mac … 2_2_18.dmg

Rebooted and it worked.

Thanks, Steve! This also solved my (similar) problem for the Digital Sandbox.

Just adding that the latest version of Java (not the package linked below) plus the FTDI driver will work for the “avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding” uploading error for OS X 10.10.5 and Sparkfun Red Board (Arduino Uno).

Thanks again to Steve!
