Activating tilt gives +24 meters elevation

I purchased a RTK torch recently and been testing it.

Today I tested against a known point, without tilt the elevation is correct but activating tilt gives about 24 meters more elevation. I do not know the reason for this.

I’ve set the polehight to 2 meters in the tilt settings.

Are you certain the pole is 2m? Have you tried re-doing the calibration? https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … menu_tilt/

Is your software subtracting the ARP offset on the backend? https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … ence-point

I measured the pole and yes it’s 2 meters.

SW maps and Surpad showed the same error.

Wouldn’t the error in elevation be about the same as the ARP offset if that was the problem? What ARP is the right one to enter anyway and shouldn’t the ARP length be added to the pole lengt??

Can a bad calibration give a 24 meter error?

New test this morning!

Android phone with SW Maps.

First I did an averaged measurement and then did a stakeout of that point.

With no tilt it was within 5 millimetres but with tilt it said -21,495 meters of in elevation. When deactivating tilt by pressing the torch button it went back to a couple of millimetres of in elevation.

When activating tilt one more time I got the same result.

Something isn’t right!

Looking closer at YouTube tilt demonstration video it showed the same problem.
