Add new part to schematic/board

Laying out a small board in EagleCad 5.11. After getting the board mostly routed I realized that I had not added mounting holes to either the schematic nor the board. I went back to the schematic and added the mounting holes and expected to find them added to the board. But that was not the case. Got the Forward/Backannotation warning. How do I get the mounting holes added to the board. Am I confined to physically adding them to the board?

Any enlightenment will be appreciated.

How do you add holes in the schematic? I don’t see anything like that. Try adding them to the board, not the schematic.

You should always add components to the schematic; otherwise, you can get the dreaded inconsistent schematic/board message.

To add holes, in the schematic, the steps are the same as any other component. Look in the “holes” library, and you will find numerous choices.
