Alchitry Cu Bad Solder Joints

I received my Alchitry Cu v1 from SparkFun on Friday and after testing it over the weekend I’m pretty sure the FPGA has bad solder joints. The Blink LED project does not light all of the LEDs unless I put pressure on the chip and gently flex the board up. They then illuminate, but won’t stay that way. The IO board is all kinds of crazy with the demo project as well. I submitted a CS email, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Hoping to get this resolved soon.

If you didn’t fill this out go ahead and do so and we’ll get ya fixed up

Thank you. I hadn’t requested the RMA yet, just tech support. I have submitted the RMA request now.

@TS-Russell I submitted my RMA request 3 days ago and have heard nothing from it. I know you guys are a small company, but this is pretty disappointing and makes me reconsider future purchases with Sparkfun. I did hear from Molly on March 4th but she offered only the technical support on the forums as their team does not have the technical ability to troubleshoot FPGA problems, rather than look into my RMA request I had submitted. I don’t fault them for not being able to assist with technical support on this particular issue, but the RMA needs to get moved along.

Did you email or post here first? If she msg’d you on the 4th that was a 0-day turnaround, or did she send you here, I sent you there, and now you’re waiting?

Just email her back with a link to this thread; she didn’t have a way to know this has been troubleshot

My initial support request was 6 days ago on Sunday. I posted here 3 days ago before I heard back. After that I did my RMA request and just heard back today with whether I preferred a replacement or refund. I did reply back 3 days ago saying that I had requested an RMA.
