Hello,
I just received my Alchitry Cu board, and I noticed that both of the 8R2 components appear to have slight cracks on the top. I am a bit of an FPGA noobie, so I was wondering if this would need replacement or if there were any tests I should do to make sure that the board is functional and won’t run into issues because of those components. The image might be a blurry, but the lines on those two components are the cracks I am referring to.
Thank you
Oh! Even though the components are not focused, the cracks are visible. Even if the board works well now, it does not mean that it will have a good life span. Did the SparkFun team contact you? surprisingly, I can see the photo on alchitry’s official website:https://alchitry.com/boards/cu
Even in this photo, the 8R2 components look tempered!
Yes, I’d spoken to someone via Amazon, where I got my board. This is actually a replacement because the first one also had a similar problem with the 8R2 components, which is why I am wondering a bit if this is normal or usable, or if anyone might have advice on what to do.
