All PCBs should be available as kits.

I don’t know for you guys, but I would have what I need to solder fine pitch SMDs. I would be willing to make my own PCBs had there not been that issue with parts procurement: hours upon hours of sifting through Digikey or Farnell (or Sparkfun!) to get all the components I need for my one little test.

My best option so far: make a PCB to interface with Sparkfun’s boards.

But  what if Sparkfun were to sell its boards as kits?

I would be willing to pay the whole price to get the components in an antistatic bag instead of soldered on the PCB.

Then I could wrap my own PCB (or have it made in a fast prototype shop) knowing I have at hand most of the components I need; that is all of them minus the ones that were not on the original Sparkfun board - of course.

If I am not the only one to believe that this would be cool, let’s (respectfully) clamor a bit and maybe the Sparkfun god in all its might and wisdom will kindly listen to us.

(Hey! Start with the logomatic for one!)

Well, the 5v and 3.3 v power supply is a kit.

I guess they call them a “Bag of Parts” kit.

Here are some of them: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/advanc … n=products
