AVR-GSM current requirements

Hello, I recently bought the AVR-GSM and now I’m looking to power it. The schematic clearly lists a 12V supply, but I can’t find anywhere that lists the required current. Has anyone happened to measure the current draw for this board (or know where I can find it)? Normally I’d just hook up to a bench supply, but mine’s on the fritz…

According to an email from the manufacturer, the GSM module on the AVR-GSM board can take up to 2A when powering up; however, there’s a buffer battery on board that should be able to take most of the load. They recommend a 12V 1A supply for normal operation.
