Hello FORUM !!!
About a 5 days (and nights) I am discovering a serious problem to connect
AVR-MT-128 board to AVR studio 4 with AVR JTAG USB unit.
Every trial to connect, I get note screen from AVR studio …
“The OCD JTAG adapter was detected, but the target device did not return a valid JTAG ID.”
…
…
Trying all combinations to make it read the switches - nothing
I am using USB-RS232 port #2 to connect, Latest AVR studio (+ SP3 update)
I read all topics on all forums to find the solution(s) - including external PS connected to Vcc/Gnd pins.
I made all suggestions from OLIMEX …
While now - Nothing.
The board runnning some demo program very well.
But, there is no way to program any another program
(The MOD-IO board with ATMega-16 works fine every time I switched back to it)
Can anybody tell me, where is the truth ?
Can I program the board with any ISP programmer ? (may be to update the JTAG swithes)
I don’t know what else, I can do.
Need help ASAP.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Radislav

Hi, how you going with connecting the AVR Atmel 128 board with the Jtag unit? Have you got the problem fixed? If so can you tell me how’s done pls. Im also having the same problem as yours. I’ve joined the other forum and asked them, they told me that the Jtag fuse on the board it could be disabled when it is delivered. The only way to enable the fuse is via using ISP- USB programer. Which i cant wait to get that one because my uC project is due to hand in to my lecturer next week.
Please let me know how you go or if anyone knows regarding this problem pls help me out.
Thanks
