Hello,
I am using the basic version Blue SMiRF module obtained from SparkFun wirelessly control my robot that uses the BrainStem microcontroller made by Acroname. The serial connections on the BrainStem are TTL and provide sufficient power to fire up the SMiRF without additional power supply.
Everything works fine EXCEPT: no matter how I set the baud rates at the two ends (Zonet USB dongle on the PC end and SMiRF/BrainStem serial on the robot end), downloading a piece of test code to the BrainStem always takes the same time and seems much slower than even 9600 baud.
I keep seeing references in these forums to “slave” and “master” modes for the two ends of the connection. Do I have to set the SMiRF to “slave” mode and, if so, what is the AT command to do so?
Any other ideas?
Many thanks,
patrick
