Beginner Question: What is the best SparkFun GPS/GNSS for $100?

I’m looking for an add-on device that has all the features of utilizing multiple GNSS receivers (connecting with many satellites like GPS / QZSS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, SBAS, …) with perhaps Untethered Dead Reckoning (UDR) capabilities, with IMU and Barometer sensors, with a discrete antenna, that works well in poor signal conditions. In terms of accuracy, I prefer anything within a meter range, but if less than that, I would prefer anything within $100, and I don’t mind it being slow update position rates (at most for my specific application, anything faster than 3 seconds is fine by me). One module that seems promising to me is the, U-BLOX ZED-F9K but most of the devices that utilize it are beyond my budget.

Are there other options that are close to my desired features that can work with the Raspberry Pi, as well as close to my price range?

I’m also looking to later tither my Pi + GPS device with a Personal Locator Beacon, along with a phone + Satellite Phone Global Chips/SIM (to make a more complex locator device), but I’m still learning all the basics about satellites and positioning devices.

Thank you for your time!

Hello, and thanks for your post.

We don’t carry a GPS that has an IMU or barometer included, but the most accurate GPS that we carry that will receive GNSS for $100 or less would be our [ZOE-M8Q breakout.

While this GPS is compatible with a Raspberry Pi, we do not have any example code for using it directly connected to a Pi so you would need to write your own code for that if that’s how you intend on using the GPS.](SparkFun GPS Breakout - ZOE-M8Q (Qwiic) - GPS-15193 - SparkFun Electronics)
