Best time of Day to Survey with RTK Torch? And with PointPerfect MQTT Corrections?

Is there a best, or worst time of day to Survey with your RTK Torch and PointPerfect MQTT Corrections?

The reason I ask is a few days ago (Aug 20th 4pm EDT), I was able to maintain RTK FIX for over an hour straight while I took various averaged points. Then today (Aug 24 5pm EDT to 6:15pm) I was able to get RTK FIX for one 60 pt average, then started a 2nd average made it to 52pt and for the next hour I was never able to get RTK Fix again, went SINGLE, DGPS, RKT Float, but not once for over 60 minutes did it go back to RTK FIX. I tried a Torch REBOOT at about 30 minutes. Tried moving Torch to a location 155ft away. Confirmed over Serial point was receiving Corrections from Point Perfect. Tried boosting Satellite elevation from 18 degrees to 30 degrees (still had 25 satellites in view) Tried boosting Noise to 18db.

This is the testing location in front of my house, which does have trees and some hills, but it’s the inconsistency that is killing me. And spending 80 minutes trying to get one 155ft measurement seems excessive.

It looks like you are using the continental PointPerfect corrections topic. Maybe give the localized corrections a try?

Interesting… so as I went searching for that configuration option, I noticed my Source Correction Lifetime changed from 60 seconds back to 30 seconds….

And for Point Perfect I had set it to USE Localized, and that was set back to Disabled. (don’t know why)

and my Tile LEVEL was back to 250x250 high Density, I was previously testing with 500kmx500km High Density.

When I start having trouble I will check to see if those settings didn’t save. I didn’t do a factory reset, as profiles were there and other things like Satellite elevation had not changed. Unfortunately I may not be able to test until Thursday, but I will test in a few days…. very odd as I have been very careful on settings changes as I have struggled to get consistent results due to my challenging conditions (Trees, mountains, valleys, ignorance)
