Beta firmware support for HAS on LG290P

Hi Folks,

Attached is beta firmware I received from Quectel that has HAS and PPP-B2b support for the LG290P. Please give it a try. If you have feedback for Quectel, please share it and I’ll communicate it.

If you’re using the LG290P on the Postcard, you’ll need to manually configure the LG290P using Port B of the CH342. To enable E6 HAS with the WGS84 reference coordinate system I recommend using:

PQTMCFGPPP,W,2,1

From there, look for a station ID of 9002 to verify HAS corrections are being used.

Thank you very much.
I’ll try it and leave a comment.

Hi Sparky. Thanks again.
Could you show me how to turn Galileo HAS corrections on and off with this new firmware?
After flashing the RTK postcard with the new firmware, what would be the correct procedure to enable and disable Galileo HAS corrections?
Thanks

The RTK firmware does not yet have support to control the HAS feature. You’ll have to enable it by sending the above command over serial on the UART connected to USB Port B.

$PQTMCFGPPP,W,2,1,120,0.10,0.15*68 enable HAS

PQTMCFGPPP,W,0,1,120,0.10,0.15*6A disable HAS PPP feature

$PQTMCFGPPP,R*74 for ask & get response

$PQTMCFGFIXRATE,W,1000*59 fix rate to 1Hz is mandatory!

Thanks, friend.
On another note, I’m asking:
Is the firmware version an old one with Galileo fixes?
I don’t have any information on the exact version or fix time.

Were you successful in getting corrections?

The fw was prepared to fit just the PPP engine…

I live in europe utc+2…

Imho need 25/30 min to achieve;

see (later) tomorrow.

Hello, I’m reporting my initial experiences.
The firmware loaded without any problems.
It seems to be an old version, as I can’t find several improvements, such as accuracy information, fix time, and more.
Regarding the Galileo HAS corrections, with the small helical antenna, but with a clear sky, I only got floating, with a differential age between 5 and 15 seconds. The base station ID was 9002.
I was on it for a long time and it didn’t go beyond floating.
I’ll try again tomorrow.

It is 5 (float) in nmea GGA, meaning PPP…

as “The current PPP float solution is still marked with 5 in GGA. The differential age outputs the age of the PPP correction number clock difference product. In addition, to facilitate the distinction from RTK, the stationID of the PPP result based on the B2b correction number is 9001, and the stationID of the PPP result based on the HAS correction number is 9002.”

Stay tuned…

Hi, has anyone had any success?

This is the best I’ve ever gotten

$GNGGA,130311.000,x010.57502420,N,0x525.57906583,E,5,17,1.12,278.589,M,46.132,M,11.0,9002*6B

whatch at GGA only, remember that GST in v3 do not work…

compare at same reference a known point… in rtk_fix then in ppp (5)

note that tresold claims 0.10 / 0.15 on H/V.

Obrigado. Assim que possível vou testar.

Hello, if RTCM correction is used with HAS firmware, what happended about the LG290P : HAS is only the one to be used or RTCM correction will be added to increase accury?

No RTCM correction is used…

The matter is:

– need fix at 1Hz

– need GGA sentence only

– need to enable manually PPP feature

but (in my case)

setting fix rate do not work

gnss stop neither (and other commands due to rollbacked version v3)

<<bisogna arrangiarsi;La gatta frettolosa fece tutti i gattini cecati”
“Meglio tardi che mai; e se Maometto non va alla montagna è la montagna ad andare da Lui!”>>

Let me know if there is other method…

Ooh, this is exciting, but I’ll wait until the release firmware is out I think, still wrapping my head around the basics!

Hi folks here 40 min of PPP_HAS!
