Board Size Question

I am running the “Lite” version of EagleCad. Is it permissible to size my BRD to 4" X 3.2" or must I adhere to the 100mm (3.9370) X 80mm (3.1496)? What problems will I run into if I set my board size to 4" X 3.2"?

Any enlightenment will be appreciated!

Vic

You can’t place components or traces outside the lite version restricted area.

If this is just for hobby use, there is an option of buying the non-profit license for $125.00 which gives you 160mm x 100mm board area and 6 signal layers.

You can make your board bigger than the restricted size. It’s the pads of the components that must line in the restricted area. Eagle will complain if you attempt to place a component pad outside this area. Traces and holes can be placed outside the restrticted area.

There might be others implicatons but I have not been hindered by them.
