BOB-09110 Compatibility with other Joysticks

Hi All!

I’m fairly new to working on boards and such. I was looking to add a joystick to my workstations and I quickly came to the realization that apparently there is no standard for pin layouts or signal pins? I was looking at the BOB-09110 as a way to easily secure and wire joysticks but I’m not sure if its just compatible with the sparkfun joystick or if I’d be able to use other joysticks to play around with (ie TMR, Hall, etc().
Is there a way to know what other joysticks work apart from the com-16273 or com-09032? I was looking to get some alps RKJXV or TMR but that’s when I saw that they’re normally listed as compatible for specific game controllers (different one for the different PSs and XBoxes).

It’d mostly depend on the footprint of the ones you’re trying to use…but yes, those 2 are the only ones that carry that’ll fit the BOB-09110. The deluxe (com-16273) blurb does mention it being similar to playstation-style joysticks, so that might be worth investigating/experimenting

If you find something specific that is compatible with a system but doesn’t fit our breakout board you could likely use its datasheet and create & order some DIY breakout boards that match the footprint (or similarly find some online)
