CAN BUS SHIELD EXTRACT INFORMATION FROM LAPTOP

Hello everyone,

Normally the CAN BUS SHIELD is made to extract information through OBD2 jack from car. Am i right?

I dont have a car, but i have on my laptop CANalyzer DEMO and a record (.ASC) from when the car was running.The record contains speed , turations and more.

It is posible to use the CAN BUS SHIELD to extract information from that record (.ASC)?

Hello Vali.

Unfortunately no, you wouldn’t be able to connect the CAN Bus Shield to a laptop to extract your data. The CAN Bus Shield needs to be connected to an actual CAN bus to work and a laptop isn’t going to have a CAN bus port on it. You’d need some sort of CAN interface for your laptop to be able to do this.
