Connecting WRL-08332 Bluetooth Module to RS232 device?

I bought the WRL-08332 (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8332) and am trying to connect it to a RS232 barcode scanner. The barcode scanner has GRD TX RX and DTR. I tried connecting it to the bluetooth module by GRD to GRD, TX to RX, RX to TX and DTR to it’s own 5V’s since the bluetooth module doesn’t have DTR, only CTS, RTS, GRD, RX, and TX.

I connected my laptop to the bluetooth module and opened my barcode program, selecting the new bluetooth port, I then scanned a barcode and got weird results (<0xc6><0xc6>FFFFF2<0x8f><cf&t<0xa3>2C<0x94><0xd1>) back instead of the barcode number.

Am I supposed to use an adapter with the bluetooth module to connect it to an RS232 device? If so where do I get one or how can I make it. I know something like this (http://www.blueserial.com/) will solve the problem but I already bought the module and would rather learn.

From the product page:

Do not attach this device directly to a RS232 serial port. You will need an RS232 to TTL converter circuit if you need to attach this device to a computer.

Sparkfun has these convertors available or you could build one yourself.

Yes I read that but the link was broken. Do you know the link to their Serial to TTL adapter or a link to a guide showing how to make/connect one?
