I want to do some more interesting pad shapes- including removing area within a large pad (creating negative/non conductive space where w/out copper). Does anyone have any tips for doing this? I can’t seem to find the information anywhere.
edit I can make the shapes i want by adding arcs to lines- but i can’t seem to get them to fill.
You should be able to do this using the polygon tool. The ratsnest tool will fill in the polygon for you. You may need to change the rank if you are placing this on top of another polygon.
One way I got to have an unfilled area in the middle was to create two halves of the shape using polygons that went around the area that I did not want filled.
