Hello Sparkfun –

Can you provide a datasheet for this product? On the product page, the documents tab has links to drivers and a video, but no datasheet.

I did not find a matching product at https://ftdichip.com/product-category/products/cables/

More specifically, I am looking for a spec for the metal sockets on the ends of the wires. I have been buying this product for years, but have not found a connector housing that fits the sockets. (We use it to interface with a different device, not a Raspberry Pi.)

That’s a female pin header (or pin socket), sometimes called a DuPont connector with a 0.1-inch (2.54mm) pitch.

I’m aware of that. We need much more specific information, preferably the part number and manufacturer of the sockets used, or the dimensions of the metal socket and its locking tab.

They are standard 0.1" DuPont sizing on the breakout end, standard usb A on the single end…we don’t have a datahseet, but I would expect the specs to be very similar to https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/3178883.pdf

That datasheet only has external dimensions for a jumper wire and its connector housings. The socket is not described. I need a part number and specs for the socket, to find a multi-pin connector housing that fits it.

Why the sudden concern, two years after your last post?

There is no socket. The DuPont connector on each wire fits over a single header pin, on an assembly like the one below, soldered to a PCB.

The issue is not resolved. I am still looking for a compatible two-row connector housing.

By “socket”, I mean the metal female crimp terminal that is attached to a wire, and locks into the connector housing.

These crimp pins fit the DuPont housings.
