Defective LuMini matrix

This is pretty frustrating. I just got off the phone with Customer Support who said they couldn’t offer any support, and instead I have to come here, to the forums, to request a defective product be replaced. This is very unprofessional considering now I have to publicly post, where anyone can see, my own information to get support from your company.

I am not happy!

I purchased four of your LuMini 8x8 APA 102 boards to extend a display I already have that’s made up of six of these. Three of the four you sent work as expected, but the fourth is DOA. I was calling to get it replaced. However I’m told I have to come here. Yes, I know how to use them. Yes, I have tested them all, and yes, the exact same code to program them works on all but this one. The unit is defective.

So… how do I get a replacement sent out to me and how do I send this one back to you?

Hi MarqueIV.

Sorry for your bad customer experience.

Our customer service team isn’t technical and doesn’t know what questions to ask and that’s why they referred you to the technical support team here as sadly, technical support isn’t available over the phone. Unfortunately customer service don’t have the experience needed to make the call on whether or not a product is defective but I can help you.

From your description, it does sound like you have a bad board. If you private message me your SparkFun order or invoice number I can get a tested replacement sent out. You could just reply here too, but private messaging me will hide your reply from the general public.
