Development on Mac OS X?

Hi,

I would like to develop for the MSP430 on the Mac. As the Mac doesn’t have a parallel port, what do people use? Olimex has a MSP430-JTAG-TINY with a USB port instead of parallel port that in theory could work.

Some questions:

Are there OS X USB drivers for this thing? Does MSPGCC work (well) with this tool?

Any Mac MSP developers out here? Recommendations to share?

Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry not to be too helpful, but as a Mac fan and MSP programmer,

I am also interested in programming with my favourite machine.

There is one Japanese guy I had some contacts with, who has

apparently managed to run something on a Mac. One of the

problems (probably the biggest one) is that the firmware of the

MSP430 UIF is not public.

You will easily find him if you google with relevant keywords, but

His name is Mr Kimura. He speaks and writes good english.

It would be great if a team of Mac users could spend a little bit

of their spare time to Mac development.

Beside that, there is another solution: install Windows XP on your

mac, and use existing tools. Well, you don’t get rid of windows but

at least you will have a nice machine.
