Greetings,
Before I place an order with PCB-Pool (Ireland) I’d like
to hear from any USA based customers?
I have a few questions about their service (in comparing
it with BatchPCB).
Thanks In Advance!

Selecting the least expensive options
(8 day processing, surface mail)
the turnaround is less than 3 weeks
for Southern California.
No restrictions on multiple circuits in
one file, but you separate them yourself.
(A hacksaw is easiest).
Sent an email when I made obvious errors
on a board, then corrected the errors for me.
You can see images of your board as it
moves from process to process.
No annual shutdowns.
Best of all, if you use Sprint Layout (among
others) they will use the the layout file. No
need to create gerbers, drill files, etc.
Only negative is signing for the package for
the postman.

Greetings Frank,
Thanks for your prompt reply!
Hmm. BatchPCB is a "20 business day" service, chiprint:

and in my experience that’s thirty calendar days
(max) from file upload to delivery at my door.
Ouch! I've used BatchPCB to do outline routing, chiprint:

which is usually a rectangle of non-critical size.
On this project I need “eight route points” to
notch the corners.
That's kewl. I use EAGLE and I see that PCB-Poolchiprint:
Best of all, if you use Sprint Layout (amongothers) they will use the the layout file. No
need to create gerbers, drill files, etc.
will accept those files directly. Making Gerbers and
Excellon drill files is a snap with EAGLE, and it
looks like PCB-Pool is charging 21.50 USB for
Gerber/Excellon input files.
Did you use all of the sixteen inch minimum?
I see PCB-Pool is charging me for 16 sq inches but
I’m only using 9.46 sq inches for each PCB.
(BatchPCB rounded it up to ten, or 25 USD each).
BatchPCB is 91.80 USD for three boards including
shipping to my door. PCB-Pool is at 121.40 USD for
one PCB and five day turn (using international
shipping by courier of 1-2 days).
Ooops, the PCB-Pool site can’t be refreshed - I may
have to start over if I order from them. I have
emailed my questions to PCB-Pool so I’ll report
back if I hear more.

Greetings Hanward,
Forgive the bluntness of my comments, but I wouldhanward:

like to make sure you understand a little about this
forum and what we do here. I’m just a member, not
the owner or boss, these are my personal views.
(1) This is a hobby electronic forum
The users here are students or those interested
in robotics, electronics, gadgets, for FUN only.
(2) The owner of this site has a PCB fabrication service
that is limited to two sided, plated through holes,
soldermask both sides, silk both sides. They charge
$2.50 per square inch plus a set up fee (of about $10)
per order. There are no minimums.
(3) There is no volume work to be had here. Most of
use buy one or two of each design, and never go to
production.
(4) To get the low price we are willing to wait a long time
(20 days).
(5) We do not pay extra for expedited service.
If you are a volume manufacturer looking for big
orders this is wrong place for you.
There are a few (<5%) professional engineers
and entrepreneurs that visit here and are looking
for mass production of their projects.
If what we do is still interesting to you please visit
the Batchpcb.com site, and bring us your
competitive bid for services.
