EAGLE - Autorouting

Hello,

I just need help to a simple problem, that I can’t seem to figure out how to do.

When you use the auto routing function it always wires it with the thinnest wire possible.

How can you change it? Can you do it in schematics to make some wires thin an some thicker?

Thanks,

Simon H.A.

I had the same problem, and asked the same question. I was advised to go down to “Net Classes” under the Edit dropdown in the Schematic editor, and add a class that uses a thicker wire. Then you right click on the connection in your schematic that you want to have thicker wires, and go to Properties, and select the new net class at the bottom of the properties dialog.

Thank you for the answer. It works now

But I have another question.

I’m starting to make double sided PCB’s. And I have a little problem again.

With the autorouter function it uses via’s to connect bottom wires with top wires, but It doesn’t do that with the through-hole components. That is bothering me because I want the through-hole components to be on the bottom layer. So the top wires don’t connect directly to them but uses a bottom wire and then a via to connect it to the top.

I have posted a picture just to show you what I mean exactly.

I’ve never put components on the bottom, so you’ll have to wait for someone else to speak up on this one. Sorry.

I just think I’ll use the autorouter, and then fix these things manually.

Place rectangles of tRestrict over the pins and the autorouter will do exactly what you want.

Thanks a lot for you reply!
