Hi!
I am using two Facet units set up as a Base and Rover, so I can do post processing kinematic surveying (PPK). I have set the units up to log on an microSD card, set the Base unit at a fixed location and then carry the Rover around. I can then use the logged UBX-files from the Base and Rover to do a PPK correction in e.g. RTKLib. I can see and collect raw data from the Rover using e.g. SW Maps on a smartphone.
But here’s the thing: I want to collect single survey points from e.g. SW Maps (i.e., actively decide when I want to take a point measurement with the Rover), and then only post process those points. Right now, it seems I get a continuous data stream of locations from both the Base and Rover, and during post processing, it corrects the whole stream of points. Have any of you a tip on how to do that? I could write down the exact time where the Rover is located on the point I want to measure and then only select the points with that time stamp after the post processing, but that seems like too much effort for what it is. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

What you are describing is exactly how PPK works.
As you probably already know, If you add a radio link - you can use both methods (RTK and PPK) since you mentioned that you record RAW data on both devices.
It’s not uncommon for Surveyors to perform a RTK survey, but have the RAW data saved for future post processing when/where the RTK link was down.
I personally feel that a particular implementation of PPP-RTK is the emerging technology and the most useful across many applications… but it requires Cellular/Internet service.
