I have updated the Face RTK firmware to version 1.10 from the RTK_Surveyor_Firmware_v1_10.bin file.
When I turn on the unit it shows the welcome screen, but then it shows the message “GNSS Failed”.
I have tried to connect Facet to my laptop through the USB port. The ch340 port shows up for a few seconds and then Facet shuts down and the port disappears.
Hi rrodas - Please connect your device over USB, then power the unit. The unit’s settings may be preventing it from configuring the GNSS correctly. The solution is to do a factory reset. While the unit should do this on its own, there may be a state in which its not able to. Starting in v1.10 we’ve provided an additional serial-based factory reset method: again, be sure your USB connection is in place, press and hold the power button until the unit starts up. If the unit boots as normal you are good to go. If you hit ‘GNSS Failed’ error again, open a COM port to the Facet. You should see ‘Reset to factory defaults?’ appear once per second. Following the prompts: Press ‘y’ and then ‘r’ to confirm. The unit will then reset and power cycle and you should be good to go. Please report back if you continue to have issues.
