Does anyone know how to solve this?
Are you certain COM6 is the correct port?
Hi Caffrey (@caffrey9307 ),
The “Please TURN OFF…” info is important. The SARA-R5 needs to be powered but “Off” via the small PWR switch. Then click “Start” in EasyFlash. Then press the PWR switch again to turn the SARA-R5 on and begin the update.
I hope this helps,
Paul
Also, please be very careful with the firmware .dof file. Make sure you have downloaded the correct one. I see “AWS” in the filename which makes me think you are trying to flash the special AWS firmware onto the SARA. I don’t think that will work. I think that only works on SARA-R510AWS modules. For the MicroMod function board, you need the SARA-R510M8S firmware. Please note that these are now supported by Transa; Transa have acquired u-blox’s cellular business.
Best,
Paul
Yes, the COM6 is labeled with CH340
Yes, I do follow reminder on the easyflash but still fail.
and
Also, yes, I’m using SARA-R510AWS module and I’m trying to update the firmware to the version they sent me.
OK. Thanks. I thought you might be trying to update the SARA-R5 MicroMod Function Board.
On the AWS “Asset Tracker”, use the “SARA On” button to turn the SARA-R5 off. Check the White “On” LED is off. Then click “Start” in EasyFlash. Then press the “SARA On” button again to turn the SARA-R5 on and begin the update.
I had tried but still failed
OK. Thank you.
Do you see “[2] Connecting to bootrom (reset it now)” in EasyFlash?
If you do, quickly press the Reset button (not SARA On).
There is more information in these posts. But, they are for the SARA-R510M8, not the AWS version:
I see the “[2] Connecting to bootrom (reset it now)” and tried few times. When I see the messages, I press on the RESET button but still fail.
Is that a valid baud rate?
Hi @caffrey9307 ,
3000000 baud will not work. The SARA-R5 can perform automatic baud detection, but only at lower baud rates. Also, you need to consider what baud rate the CH340 on the Update Tool can support. 115200 is slow but tested and reliable.
I hope this helps,
Paul
I did cause it’s suggested by Trasna but now seems every baud rate also not working
115200 is working fine for me to sent AT commands but not updating the firmware

Thank you @caffrey9307 ,
I am sorry. I have no more ideas. All I can suggest is that you send your log file to Transa. Maybe they can work out what is going wrong?
Best wishes,
Paul
