FS3000 not working

I am continually getting raw ouput readings of 401. I tried connecting the sensor to both a arduino uno r4 wifi and arduino nano esp 32. I tried both the qwiic connector and header pins. I ran I2C scanner and it is able to detect the device. Nothing I do seems to be working in resolving this issue.

I am starting to think that this could be faulty hardware.

I’d test with the esp32 (the R4 wifi has a newfangled i2c)

Why would the I2c on the arduino uno r4 wifi affect it?

Here is a photo of the simple connection via qwiic connection. It is powered on. Arduino is able to detect the I2C device yet it continues to give 401 values even when blowing through the FS3000 sensor. Like I said earlier, I tried header pin connection as well with both arduino uno r4 wifi and arduino nano esp32. Both are giving me 401 errors. Everything is pointing to faulty hardware…

Was it purchased from us? If so head over to Return Policy - SparkFun Electronics (contact vendor if purchased elsewhere) and we’ll get ya squared away

I purchased the sensor through Mouser which I see is one of your guys partners. Also, would I be able to return the sensor even though I soldered the header connections when testing the product?

The newer arduino boards sometimes move the I2C pins around. Sometimes its Wire, other times its Wire1. If you have an old Arduino Uno R3 laying around, that’s a good board to test with.

Email them for specifics, though I imagine they won’t want it back because it isn’t resalable (defective, soldered to) and will likely just send a replacement…but I’m guessing. Email them to know
