FT231X breakout question

Hi Guys,

Maybe this is super dumb and beginners…but I need help on this.

I am trying to run a serial monitor of an ATMEGA328 3.3v, through an ISP 6 pin header.

If I understand correctly the MISO (pin1) is the RX, and MOSI is the TX.

I am looking to use the SParkfun FT231x breakout. Can I just power my ATMEGA through the 3.3v pin on the breakout ?

– if not, I cant find the exact direction on how to make the breakout 3.3v ?

Can I also program through this header ?

Thanks

Gur

Yes, that should work.

To use the breakout @ 3.3v, you cut the trace on the back between the middle pad and 5v pad with a razor/sharp knife, then solder a small blob connecting the 3.3v and middle pads https://cdn.sparkfun.com//assets/parts/ … 263-03.jpg refer to the VCC portion of this photo

Then you should be good to go
