Ground pour in Eagle doesn't save

Hi,

I have a problem with eagle messing up my ground pour. I create the pour by activating the rats-nest (type rat). Save the board. Leave eagle then come back open my brd and my ground pour has disappeared! Any ideas how to make it save my ground pour?

hi crx091081gb,

You don’t have a problem, you need to click on the ratsnest command (or type rat) to fill the pours each time you open the PCB. The ripup command reverses the operation.

regards

Cheers, I told my my fab dude to make sure he did it last time and he forgot and I ended up getting a board back that required me to manually patch my ground connections in. FAIL

Is there a way to export a version of the board that has the ground pour ‘flattened’ into it?

hi crx091081gb,

I don’t believe there is anything extra to do. I think you may have some other problem.

To be sure, generate your own gerbers and have a look at them. When I test this, my pours are filled without having to do anything in Eagle prior to generating the gerbers.

Did you send your EAGLE files to the board house?

If you did, your previous problem is one more reason to send Gerbers instead of EAGLE files to a board house…
