Help me choose a Simple USB powered GPS

Hi , I was exited when my firends told me about the Free 100$ events

So i decide to built a nice usb powered Gps module that i want to use whit Google Earth

So far i have found this page but its 2 year old

Hi guys , Do you think i am better whit this , since it have native 5V, or is it pretty much the same thing whit the other , and i can tap 5v in the usb input
