need help in purchase of gps stuff

Hi,

I am looking to buy a gps which can be connected externally to a laptop.I would like to know which gps in sparkfun is compatible with which laptop.Please help me in finding the stuff.

Well, are you talking about like an already built USB GPS module that you can just connect to your computer? Or are you talking about just a USB module that you want to build a device around that will eventually hook to your computer?

If it helps I actually got a seperate GPs device from ebay. It cost about 20 pounds and started up really quickly. At the moment I have GPS software on my phone so use this instead.

If you are talking about connecting GPS to the laptop wtih USB, I think any GPS stuff could do it.

garmin streetpilot, microsofts streets and so on. And also there are many free trial gps on internet. You can first try some and then make the decision.

If it is for a laptop, semsons.com or buygpsnow.com each have several that will work - USB or bluetooth “out of the box”. The sparkfun modules generally require design and assembly.
