Hi everyone, I made another post before but I’d like to explain my setup more clearly this time.
I’m planning to buy a pair of SparkFun LoRaSerial Kits (915 MHz), and I’d like to know if there’s any official guide or documentation that describes how to set up the process I’m trying to achieve.
Here’s what I want to do: RTK Facet (Fixed Base) → LoRa → Corrections → LoRa → RTK Express Plus (Rover)
I’m currently using the SurveyMaster app (free version).
My main questions are:
Can I transmit my Fixed Base position via Bluetooth communication?
The area where I’ll be working has no internet or cellular signal.
If the answer is no, is there any alternative way to perform a Base–Rover RTK setup without mobile data or internet, using only SparkFun equipment?
Any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated!
LoRa uses a different frequency band than bluetooth, but other than that your plan is on-point. Just one transport method is enough. You can use wifi, bluetooth, or Lora to transmit between base and rover. Wifi is best if there are obstructions but not far, LoRa is best if it is far but requires line-of-sight (mostly), and bluetooth is good to get going quickly but has the smallest range
Thanks for the info, much appreciated. My specific question is:
Can I make my base station correct the rover’s position to achieve a fixed solution using only radios?
Obviously, both would be connected to a mobile device or laptop, but with no mobile data or Wi-Fi network at all.
And all the configuration is done in the surveying app?
I suppose I should set the Facet as the base and select external radio mode in the work settings, right?
Sorry if I’m asking too many questions. I usually work perfectly with a CORS network, but this LoRa connection without internet or mobile data is new to me, so I’m looking for some guidance.
