I just plugged a brand-new Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4.0 Touch display (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15357) into a brand-new Raspberry Pi 4 B and got it working with the latest version of Raspbian headless. While booting up I get streaks across the horizontal length of the display. The artifacts come and go in odd ways. The bands on the bottom (near the “UK” text) faded in while the text was scrolling and then immediately went away when the machine was fully booted. The bands on the upper portion of the display stuck around and then faded out over several seconds while the machine just sat. I get slightly different behavior each time I reboot the Pi.
I also see unexpected lines when running some sample OpenGL code.
I’ve tried both the official Raspberry Pi USB C power supply and one other one with the same results. I also looked through the Pimoroni forums and found a report of similar behavior (https://forums.pimoroni.com/t/hyperpixe … orted/9586).
Any ideas? Hate to send this back since it looks like it’s now out-of-stock everywhere.
