I want to use the digital pins on Arduino UNO while mated with Arduino Shield.

Hello. I am a beginner in electronics and I am trying to use Arduino UNO and MyoWare 2.0 Arduino Shield. I know that when using these, the 6 analog pins on the Arduino UNO are occupied, but can I use the other pins (digital pins, etc.)?

When I look at other products, I see that there is a female connector on the Shield, and with that, I know I can insert a jumper wire there, but I don’t see it on the MyoWare 2.0 Arduino Shield.

Maybe this is too much of a newbie question, but how do you use the digital pins? Can someone please help me please?

you can use them as they are available and not used by the board, but you will have to solder the wires for the digital pins. Too bad it was designed this way.

I see that soldering is required. Do you mean to utilize the small silver ridges that line the backside of the pin (front of the board)?
