Hi,
I’d like to use the SEN-21221 to detect submergence in water. I see in the description it says the LPS28DFW is water proof. Is that including the whole breakout or just the component? Are Qwiic cables water proof/resistant so that it can be slightly submerged as well? Thank you.
There’s a note about this on the page you’ve linked too.
Important! While the LPS28DFW is protected from water, the rest of the components on these breakouts are not protected by any conformal coating and can be damaged by exposure to liquids. Users who intend to use these breakouts in applications where the board may be exposed to water or other liquids should apply a conformal coating to the board or place it in a sealed container prior to use.
Hi,
Thank you. So I do need a coating for the breakout board. What about the Qwiic cable? Could that be under water or would it have to be above water?
The cable itself can get wet, you need to keep the connectors dry though.
